London Business School (LBS) is an excellent choice for MBA hopefuls who wish to gain a global business education anchored in financial markets. Repeatedly ranked among the top 10 business schools in the world and among the top two in Europe, LBS offers excellent opportunities for students who are interested in finance, technology, consulting, and indeed any business area. The school is also a melting pot for cultures and ideas; 90% of the 511 students in the class of 2023 are from 66 countries other than the UK.
Choice is a key feature of the LBS MBA. With an option to graduate in 15, 18 or 21 months, it is arguably the most customizable program on the planet. Career changers particularly benefit from this structure, as they have the opportunity to complete up to two internships before graduating as well as select from over 80 courses in the second year. LBS’s global offerings stand out as well, with 30% of its MBA candidates spending a term at one of its 30 highly regarded partner schools.
In terms of employment, the MBA class of 2021 graduates went primarily into consulting with 38%, followed by finance and tech with 26% each. 52% of graduates chose to stay and work in the UK; the rest relocated to Asia (13%) and continental Europe (10%), among other destinations. Notable LBS alumni include Kumar Mangalam Birla (Chairman of Aditya Birla Group, MBA 1992), Illugi Gunnarsson (Former Minister of Education of Iceland, MBA 2000), Moez Kassam (Founder of Anson Funds, MBA 2010), and Timothy Kopra (NASA astronaut, MBA 2013).
